White (or Pink I guess) Pearl’s reason for being turned into what she is now
Ok so we know that she used to belong to Pink Diamond and she was most likely taken away for one of two reasons:
She encouraged ‘bad’ behaviour
She did something wrong
But what if
“I need to be replaced immediately!”
Pearl knew immediately after telling her diamond how she felt that it was very wrong in their society and that she would be replaced if it was discovered.
“Please never stop!”
Rose/PD wanted to be loved. She recognises what’s happening and she lets it happen because she thinks it’ll be different from the first time because they’re being smart.
“I was given to Pink Diamond a few thousand years before she was given the Earth. I was supposed to make her happy, I just….never could.”
When the original Pink Pearl was taken away PD was obviously heartbroken. This was her companion that she had cared for and now they were just going to replace her??? Also, I know this has been discussed before but could her multiple colour sceme signify her being a gift from the other diamonds as an apology for taking away her original pearl.
Side note
Was the removal of her pearl almost like removing a broken toy from a child? Even though it’s the child’s beloved toy they had to remove it because it was broken and they didn’t want it to hurt their child (aka PD).
This is what made me wonder about Pink’s relationship with the original pearl
No pearl touches a their superior like that. Not even our pearl acted around PD like that. They were close; possibly even fusing at one point. Could this be why she was taken away?
And now she’s upset that the one she loved is dancing with someone else and has forgotten all about her.
i understand the historical reasons why English is the most common language
but if I was writing a speculative fiction novel
and I said “the language that most people learn as a second language, usually for professional reasons, is also the only one with a spelling system so terrible that spelling words correctly is a broadcasted competition”
you’d be like “extremely unrealistic 0/10”
i never thought of this, do other languages not have spelling bees?
…I just woke up from a dream in which there was an app that notified you when nearby LARPs needed an NPC, and you could, like, go pretend to be a surly shopkeeper or whatever and get paid, like, $10 for it.
psa: if you’re learning a language on Duolingo you can use it for your resumé on Linkedin, it now gives you a certificate of fluency at different levels depending on how advanced you are in your lessons
